What is Creative Engagement?

Creative Engagement is an arts-based workshop offering an organic, interdisciplinary means of generating innovative organizational culture.

Innovation and creativity are now seen as essential to success in any field. But what do they actually mean? How do we train people in them and why are they important in business?

Creativity is defined as "the use of imagination and original ideas, especially in the production of artwork."

The definition of innovation is "the act or process of introducing new ideas, devices, or methods."

Your company's innovations are dependent on the creativity of your employees.

Participation in arts programs trains empathy, fosters outside the box thinking, increases resilience, appreciation of diversity and encourages a culture where new ideas are welcomed rather than discouraged.

What would these positive changes mean for your company?

As a life-long artist with a BFA in studio art and a minor in art history, I facilitate arts-based programs, not "creativity exercises" watered down for the corporate environment. Your employees will experience real visual art processes that are as challenging and engaging as they are fun, revealing and rewarding. The authenticity and effectiveness of my work in the corporate world draws on a lifetime of experience as a professional artist.

Customized Workshops:

"What makes these workshops so special is the aspect of co-created artwork”

Each workshop culminates with the collaborative creation of a large, original, finished artwork. This artwork is suitable for framing and provides a concrete "take-away" that serves as a lasting reference to the experience.

Organizations often place these creations in their boardrooms, or in a busy hallway so that workshop participants can continue to connect with what they learned and share their insights with co-workers.

This final group-created image can be used in print materials, or given as a framed miniature to each of the workshop participants.

Creative Engagement workshops expose the barriers of viewing life by "looking in the rear-view mirror." Participants gain the possibility of moving forward with clarity, purpose and vision.
